Ok ...Britney. Your kids are pretty efn cute....

So, when Britney was going through her "I'm a trashy hot mess" phase, I might've said some stuff about her that was pretty damn funny, but .....well that's all it was ...funny, at the time of course. Admit it, we all LOVE to hate this girl. Then we got the tell all story on VH1 or MTV...whatever non music video playing video music channel it was. I kinda felt bad for her after that....she was in a bad place and had alot of bad people around her...it's almost like she never really accepted her adult responsiblities and learned how to really take care of herself and how to tell people who shouldn't be in your life to EFF off. However, I digress and say that if she hadn't really had her crazy white trashy hot mess phase, she probably wouldn't have had these two adorable kids and we wouldn't have had this gem of a video. Yeah, OK...maybe they shouldn't be on tour with her...too much on the kids, however, this video is pretty damn cute.

Another great time waster that will make you laugh...

I got this one from a friend of mine in an email...short sweet and to the point and damn funny.

So it's been a while...

And as they say good things come to those who wait. Although I may not have much to say these days as there's not much going on in my life at the moment besides hanging around the house...doing nothing is getting easier every day. I need to get back into some sort of a schedule and start doing stuff. However, I happen to have a great video to share from Funny Or Die courtesy of my boy Brian Stylez at K104....he showed me this the other day after my air shift...funny as hell. Check it out!!!

"Hi my name is Jenn and I'm unemployed"....(all in unison) "Hi Jenn"

So I've recently joined the ranks of the unexpectedly unemployed....on my first day back to work after being on disability nonetheless. Well now I'll have soooo much time to blog =) and it will also allow me to do what I've really wanted to do for a long time....go to nursing school! So I'm 27 and on my way to my 3rd career. It's never to late to follow your heart. I still plan on writing on the side freelance style and will always have a passion for that as well, that's something I have in my soul that I can't deny.

So with the formalities aside, let me tell you how I feel like I've joined a support group. As expected, I filed for unemployment and went into the info session this past week, man did I feel like I was in a support group. I looked around at all the desolate faces and felt like standing up and saying "Hi...my name is Jenn and I'm unemployed". There should be twelve steps for this...sponsers,even. (wow..did I just channel Snagglepus or what?!)

I've been on unemployment before a few years ago, but never was it like this. There were such a mix of people in that meeting...from people like me that are still in their 20's and looking to follow their career to those that were displaced from their company after 15 or 20 years. Those are the ones I feel for the most. You've got someone in their 40's that unexpectedly looses their job, more than likely has kids in or about to go to college and paying a mortgage on a house and supporting a family. This person hasn't had to look for a job in decades and hasn't updated their resume in years let alone probably doesn't know much about searching for a job on the internet. They're missing the technological/internet skills that those of us younger folks have these days. I feel so bad for these people. It makes me want to volunteer at the unemployment office to help those in need. But then what happens to my job search? Well...eventhough I'm still searching for jobs, I'm also waiting for my funding to come through for nursing programs.

On the job search topic, I'm sure this goes without saying, but DAMN there are NO jobs out there!!! I did a search for import/export and supply chain logistics...NOTHIN! How depressing is that! One of the only places I know hiring right now is PetSmart...incredible huh? I can't wait to go back to school to keep myself busy. I've been out of work on disability for the last two months and even though I'm appreciating having the nice weather to enjoy, I can't stand sitting around the house doing nothing but searching for jobs on the internet. It's always the same crap day after day. At least I still have the radio gigs on the weekend. It's definitely time to incorporate my entertainment company and get things off the ground with my dj/karaoke gigs!!! If you readers need a DJ/KJ in the New England area, check out my website at www.jenniferkopec.com and click on Starshine Entertainment.

On that note, it's almost time to watch my 7pm episode of Scrubs and head off to Putnam House karaoke =) Stay tuned for more!~

Movies from over a decade ago predict the future yet again!

Happy Spring fellow bloggers and faithful readers! I only know its spring because my allergies are driving me wild...we wouldn't really know it was spring here from the weather as we've had a very slow warm up here in the Northeast! Weather aside, I know it's been a while since I last posted and alot has happend...a new job, condo purchase, car accident. Basically 2008 went out with a bang and 2009 came in kickin my ass up and down the street.

One thing I've come to realize lately is all of those "futuristic" movies that Arnold "Governator" Schwarzenager did back in the late 80's/early 90's really were not that far off from the truth. I was watching TV a few weeks ago and "The Running Man" was on....the opening scene of the movie simply states this quote:

"By 2017 the world economy has collapsed. Food, natural resources & oil are in short supply"

If they only knew how close they were to predicting the future! It was late 2008 when the economy really started to get flushed down the tubes with the stockmarket and here in 2009, the same conditions still exist. Companies are laying people off left and right, your job is now the job of 3 other people and you're still making the same salary. Gas prices (thankfully) took a dip, but are now back on the rise due to OPEC getting the grand idea that if we're not demanding as much oil, they're going to cut back gas production to get prices to go up again. Don't they realize that if the prices go back up, we're going to cut our use on gas again? But even with the dip in fuel prices, the price of food is still skyhigh and although most energy prices have come down, electricity continues to soar. My bill has a different rate almost every single month....it's criminal I tell ya!!! CL-P should be ashamed of themselves. The irony in all of this is that back in '87 when the Governator was the Terminator he was making some pretty prophetic movies. Who ever thought that could happen? Something tells me Arnie should get out of office in "Cali-for-neeya" as he says it and get back infront of the camera making some more futuristic movies...only make these ones about a booming economy where gas is back down to $.99/gal (remember those days??), cigarettes are back to 3 bucks a pack and you don't have to worry if you'll have a job day after day!

I bring this up only because of my last p0st in regards to Taco Bell and Demolition Man (another futuristic flick). I remember my mother telling me she used to watch movies when she was younger that would be set in the year 2000 + and how there would be flying cars and the such and she thought it was funny that that was the vision of the future back in the 60's. And 20 odd years later, the futurisitic movies about the years 2000+ seem pretty spot on in some aspects. Taco Bell will undoubtedly survive any chain war because of their unbeatable prices, the world economy is in the crapper...now if only someone would tell me how to use the 3 seashells!!
